INT. SCENE 1 PALACE COUNCIL CHAMBER – NIGHT
Sira storms into the council chamber. Lorenz stands on her entrance.
What news do you have that is so urgent that needs my attention at this hour of the night?
We ran into some trouble in a small village on the border between Wesser and Metag.
What kind of trouble?
A mercenary army, led by Barton Malor.
Sira moves to the large council chamber and slams her hands onto its surface.
Barton Malor! I have heard of that name. He is an outlaw to watch for. Do we not have him under constant surveillance?
We do your majesty.
Sira moves towards Lorenz, standing before him. Sira strikes Lorenz across the right jaw. Lorenz winces in return.
(Shouts) How did you let an outlaw and his rebel forces get undetected and so close to the province of Metag?
I cannot answer how they escaped our attention. We have routine patrols running through all the province boundaries. They should not have gone undetected.
I know how it could have happened. There is a traitor within the palace army.
Sira paces back and forth with her arms swinging. She turns to Lorenz.
Have my horse and weapons ready. At dawn, we ride out and meet Barton Malor head on. Bring a small contingent of men. I want each of their heads mounted on poles leading to the palace gates as a warning to others who might think of trying to oppose me.
Yes, your majesty.
Sira storms out of the council chamber.
EXT. SCENE 2 PALACE COURTYARD – DAYBREAK
Sira exits the palace and into the inner courtyard. Sira is now dressed in her armour clothes decorated in various weapons with two swords on her back. She mounts her white stallion. Sira turns to the group of men waiting on her.
Today, we come back with bodies. (Shouts) Open the gates!
Sira leads, galloping out of the inner palace courtyard with her men following. Marget observes from the third floor of the palace.
