Fade In.
INT. SCENE 1 ROYAL PALACE – MORNING
Sira opens her eyes. She quickly sits up and stares around her bed chamber. A knock on the door interrupts her thoughts.
SIRA
Come.
SERVANT
Sorry, my majesty. General Lorenz is seeking an audience with you.
Sira nods.
SIRA
Very well. I shall meet him in the council chamber shortly and I also wish to see my aunt. Have her sent for.
The servant nods and exits the chamber. Sira gets out of bed and walks towards her window. She is thoughtful.
INT. SCENE 2 PALACE COUNCIL CHAMBER – MORNING
Sira enters and walks past Lorenz and takes her seat at the head of the council chamber.
SIRA
Speak.
LORENZ
Your majesty. Do I not expect an explanation as to your disappearance? My job as head of the palace army is to ensure your safety at all times.
SIRA
I can take care of myself. You should know of that.
LORENZ
Still, I do not know how you returned to the palace after your disappearance yesterday? But it is good that you are back safe and sound.
Sira stares at him momentarily.
SIRA
Did you get captives?
LORENZ
Yes. We have a number of captives that will be publically hanged. I believe one of the captives is one of the leaders of the rebel forces, a man by the name of Marcus Ward.
Sira sits in thought.
SIRA
I never even got his name.
LORENZ
Marcus Ward my majesty.
SIRA
Oh! Very well. (Composes herself) See that the message gets out there. We will make an example of these rebels. Dismissed.
Lorenz bows and departs the council chamber to pass Marget on the way in.
MARGET
You asked to see me, my niece.
SIRA
Please sit. I was angry yesterday, perhaps it was the shock of finding out that my father kept many hidden truths from me.
Marget sits observing Sira.
MARGET
Tell me what it is you would like to know?
SIRA
Firstly I want to know about the Salic Sisters? Who are they and what do people know of them?
MARGET
Salic Sisters! Rumours my child. No one has ever laid eyes or has claimed to have laid eyes on them. It all stems from Ostund land. A severe place that even the mightiest warrior cannot survive so I believe it’s a story to protect many a man’s pride. That is why that region is disputed and is referred to as no-mans land. It does not officially form part of the Kingdom of Malaar.
