SCENE 1 EXT. PALACE INNER COURTYARD – MORNING
Malic stands on the front entrance steps of the royal palace. Barton and Marget stand at each side of him.
King Malic you look nervous.
Perhaps nervous is too mild a word. We are about to have the first official visit from Queen Sira to the capital city and its royal palace, which means we are here today before the whole kingdom, recognising her as a sovereign ruler over the northern territories.
I agree. A bold move as from today, it will be official that the Kingdom of Malaar is no longer a unitary state.
And of what of the public’s response? Will they dislike it?
You cannot please the public all of the time. As, king, you will need to make decisions for the people that will not always be popular. Besides, you have the full support of the council members. I have made sure of that. Do not forget the bigger issue here that the crowd out there do not know about.
The invading force that is about to bring war onto its people, yes, and it is something mother, we cannot ignore.
We do need Sira’s support and this meeting should change the people’s view of her and help them understand your decision, no matter how much I dislike it.
Barton exchange glances with Marget. A trumpet sounds and the main palace gates of the outer courtyard open. Horses enter and mounted soldiers carry flags. The crowds of people remain silent, observing.
New flags. I wonder if they are the royal flags or the new state’s flags?
We do not even know the name of what she will call the new state.
Sira enters through the gates dressed in regal gowns sitting in an open carriage being drawn by two white stallions.
She certainly knows how to make an entrance.
She is Malic’s equal and that is how she is to be seen.
Sounds like you already recognise her as queen.
(Looks towards Barton)
The carriage stops outside the steps of the royal palace and Sira alights, ascending the steps towards the awaiting party.
Queen Sira, you are welcome.
Sira looks briefly towards Barton before moving to her aunt and giving her a hug.
Come, let us enter. We have much to talk about.
The party enter the main doors of the royal palace.
SCENE 2 INT. PALACE COUNCIL CHAMBERS – MORNING
Malic, Sira, Marget and Barton are seated at the council chamber. Everyone is silent. Sira places her hands on the table and turns to Malic.
I suggest we start. We both find ourselves in a situation we did not expect.
Unite the kingdom and we can stand side by side and defeat this oncoming enemy.
No. If we lose then what difference will it be than if we win? I am not losing my right to a throne.
Your family do not hold claim to royalty, nor were you ever entitled to a throne.
Let us not go back down the road of the past. It is history, something that cannot be changed. We need to look at now, and our future.
I am only agreeing to do this Sira, because of what we have been told is coming to our shores by the goddesses. I never wished to see what my father King Siris created, destroyed again. He built a united kingdom, creating peace among the four provinces. What is your intention? Is it a peaceful one? Are we going to open up trade talks, political alliances?
We will start by opening up a military alliance against the invading threat approaching our shores. You will recognise here today, my new state and my royal status. Then we will start formulating a strategy to build defences together.
Silence follows and Malic glances towards Barton and Marget.
SCENE 3 INT. ARMONTE FLAGSHIP – DAY
Rubella paces the small space inside the orb. She observes Karron and Jules.
Tonight we will be within the shorelines of the Kingdom of Malaar.
What are our plans for the Korninti elder?
Karron looks at Rubella and walks slowly towards the orb.
Once she sees the destruction of the Kingdom of Malaar, then she will be kept imprisoned until we decide her fate.
What of her sister?
I would not worry about her. She will become a casualty of war.
Have I said something that amuses you?
You will see when the time comes.
But I am curious about one thing? How do you plan to create a balance between all worlds? Is it your intention to monitor and guard the Hall of Worlds?
Once we have taken hold of most worlds we will get the upper hand on the Shi and under our control they will keep chaos and order in harmony.
You are even more delusional than I first imagined. Do you really believe you can defeat the Shi or even Jonas? His parents will descend from whatever celestial plain they exist in. They would never allow it to happen.
The difference between Armonte and the Korninti, is that we believe and are not afraid to evolve, becoming something more and not just remaining stagnant and dutiful, living out an existence of nothing more than what you are now.
For that to happen, you must first be aware of the consequences of evolving and becoming more. Gornus was a prime example of that. Look at what he created by wanting the Korninti to become more. He destroyed our race and cast all worlds into turmoil.
Gornus had vision.
He was a fool and you are no better than him.
Karron holds his gaze on Rubella. He turns and walks towards his table. Rubella turns her back on Karron and Jules. She closes her eyes.
SCENE 4 INT. PALACE PRIVATE QUARTERS – DAY
Sira stands by the window staring outside. Marget sits by the fireplace.
Thank you for supporting me in the meeting.
I am only voicing what our current situation is and I must be the voice of reason when both Malic and Barton are teaming up against you because you have the upper hand.
Whatever is coming has seen to that. I am simply playing with it to my advantage. If we were not in this current situation, Malic and Barton would lead a war against me to take control back of the full kingdom. You know this aunt and I wonder which side you would stand on then.
Perhaps it is never meant to come to that and it is a question I cannot answer.
Sira moves and sits near Marget.
Do you believe they will agree to my terms?
I believe they will. Even the palace council agree that it is the right thing to do.
The council! They are but sheep and will bend to your will.
A new and younger council have been instated since Malic took power and they work within key areas of the business concerning the kingdom.
(Marget reaches out and holds Sira’s hand)
There is something that I ask you not to do.
What is that?
Do not tell Malic about your daughter. If we get through all of what is ahead, then you can decide on what you wish to do.
Don’t worry Marget. I have no intention of telling Malic about Eve, just yet. That is information I can use at a later time. One day, it will be Eve who will have the rights to both thrones, she will then unite this kingdom and it will be under her name. I believe the gods had some part to play in this.
Ensuring the Galor name becomes part of the history of the kingdom’s dynastic rulers. I dislike lying to Malic but for now, it must be done.
It is not the first time you have lied or kept secrets.
At times it requires it but I do it for the greater good.
Do not judge me Marget. I do what I do to protect my family’s name. Our name. What would my father say if he were alive today?
Marget does not respond and remains silent. Sira stands.
Come, let us return to the council chamber and sign a new chapter in the history of our known world.
Marget rises and they exit the room.
SCENE 5 INT. PALACE COUNCIL CHAMBER – AFTERNOON
Sira, Malic, Marget, and Cauper sit around the council table. Cauper picks up the QUILL and a new parchment.
You all understand that once we create and sign the agreement, it will mean for the first time in the history of the kingdom that there will be two official states. In fact, the landmass that we now know as the Kingdom of Malaar will no longer be called that. Queen Sira will be the ruling sovereign queen of the Galor Royal Family and King Malic will be the ruling monarch of the Siris Royal Family.
Additionally, a peace agreement, trade and military alliances will be signed between the two states.
Malic looks towards Sira who nods in agreement.
From this day forth, the landmass, the known world as we know it will become the Kingdom of Malaar and the Kingdom of the Northern Realm.
Cauper begins to write. Sira smiles.
SCENE 6 EXT. ARMONTE FLASHSHIP – EVENING
Soulep stands on the deck of the Armonte Flagship. Her eyes are on the main CABIN on deck. She observes the Armonte going about their tasks. They do not see her. Placing both her hands in a circular motion in front of her face, the space around her SHIMMERS and she becomes visible to the crew, now beginning to attack the intruder. The wall of shields surrounding Soulep’s body protects her from the attacks, repelling the energy strikes. Sparks ignite all around her, engulfing the space outsider her shields into FLAMES. Extending her hands, Soulep directs them toward the cabin blowing its roof into the air and its walls burst outwards knocking Armonte off the ship and into the water. Karron and Jules stand openly on deck with Rubella. Soulep’s eye sockets fade to black and the amulet around her neck radiates blue. Turning her right hand slowly, she lifts Jules into air. Jules screams in agony. Soulep places her attention on Karron.
Release my sister!
Karron steps forward, facing Soulep.
Do not push me Karron, or your elder will join your fellow fallen comrade.
Karron pauses for a moment before breaking the orb that holds Rubella. Rubella steps towards Soulep and inside her shielding. Soulep drops Jules who falls onto the deck of the ship. Soulep rises above the deck. She rolls her hands and extends her arms outwards on either side of her, sending a SHOCK WAVE ripping into each of the ten ships sailing parallel on either side of the Armonte flagship. The ships fall over in a domino effect with FLAMES engulfing them. Soulep descends slowly to the ground.
Welcome Armonte to the Kingdom of Malaar.
Clasping hands with her sister, Rubella and Soulep disappear. Karron moves slowly into the centre of the deck, observing the carnage on either side of him. The ships sink slowly into the water.
